This week’s article will be themed about the installation of doors and shutters. This article is a series of articles from last week about ceiling installation. The work of installing doors and shutters is the next stage of work that is usually done after the ceiling work is completed.

Before talking about technical work, it would be better if I would describe the types of doors and shutters that are commonly used by Indonesian people. The types in question are divided based on the raw materials used. There are two types of raw materials for doors and shutters used, namely wood and aluminum.

Types of doors and windows made of wood consist of various kinds based on the type of wood used. For information, the wood commonly used for this raw material is teak wood, camphor wood, meranti wood, and mahogany wood.

Currently, the market price for teak wood is Rp. 2,500,000/unit for doors and Rp. 1,000,000/unit for shutters. Camphor wood for doors is priced at Rp. 1,600,000/unit, and for shutters, Rp. 800,000/unit.

For meranti wood, doors are priced at Rp. 1,300,000/unit, and shutters at Rp. 600,000/unit. Now the last one is mahogany which has the cheapest price, which is for doors at Rp. 1,000,000/unit, and shutters at Rp. 300,000/unit.

The prices mentioned above may vary from one region to another. Usually this difference is caused by the supply of raw materials in the area concerned.

About the size commonly used for doors, 4-6 cm thick, 80 cm wide, and 2-2.10 m high. As for the shutters, the width is 50 cm and the height is 110 cm. Even if there are other sizes according to the wishes of consumers, the price can be flexible depending on negotiations with wood craftsmen.

The second type, doors and shutters are made of aluminum as raw material. The prices for the doors are Rp. 3,360,000/unit, and the shutters are Rp. 1,500,000/unit. While the size of each material is generally the same as that made of wood raw materials.
